University of Agricultural Science, Bangalore, invites applications for admissions to PhD in the following areas:-
A Master’s degree in the concerned field of Science or an equivalent qualification from recognized Agricultural/Deemed Universities/Institutes recognized by ICAR in terms of equivalent course duration, with CGPA of 2.50/4.00 or OGPA of 7.00/10.00 or its equivalent. In case of candidates belonging to SC/ST/Cat-I of Karnataka State, a mere pass would be adequate.
However for (i) Ph.D. in Sericulture : M.Sc.(Agri.) in Agril. Entomology with specialization in Sericulture is also eligible, (ii) Ph.D. in Agricultural Entomology
: M.Sc.Agri.) in Apiculture is also eligible.
Note : A candidate shall be eligible to apply for only one subject and compulsorily take Written Test for 90 marks in the concerned subject.
It also invites for M.Sc.(Agri) / M.Tech. and MBA (ABM).

The blank application form and prospectus may be obtained from the Registrar/Dean (PGS), GKVK, Bangalore-560065 / College of Agriculture, V.C. Farm, Mandya-571401/Navile, Shimoga-577201 / P.B. No. 39, Karekere, Hassan-573201/College of Sericulture, Chintamani-563125/ College of Forestry, Ponnampet-571216 either In Person or through post by sending a Demand Draft of Rs. 600/- (Rs. 300/- in case of SC/ST/Cat-I candidates of Karnataka State only on production of an attested photocopy of valid Caste Certificate issued by the competent authority) in favour of the Comptroller, UAS, GKVK, Bangalore payable at Bangalore only, purchased on or after the date of this Notification along with request for application. Candidates seeking application through post shall send a self-addressed envelope (size 12? x 10?) affixing Rs. 50/- (Rupees fifty only) postage stamp with a requisition clearly specifying the degree for which the candidate wants to apply. The application forms shall be issued from 08-06-2011 to 29-06-2011. The filled-in application should be submitted to the Registrar, UAS, Bangalore – 560065 only, so as to reach on or before 11-07-2011 (4.00 P.M.).
