- For Ph.D. (Mumbai): M.Sc./B.E./B.Tech./M.Tech./M.A./ B.A./B.Sc. degree holders.
- For Ph.D. (Bangalore): M.A./M.Sc. Degree holders.
- For Integrated Ph.D. (Bangalore): B.A./ B.Sc./ B.E./ B.Tech. degree holders.
- Students who wish to apply for the Ph.D. programme at CAM, Bangalore will have to select Ph.D. Mumbai in the application form. Further, in the application, they can indicate their preference for being considered for Ph.D. programme Bangalore.
- Students applying for Ph.D. Mumbai and who are eligible for Integrated Ph.D. programme at Bangalore can indicate their preference in the application form for being considered for Int. Ph.D. Bangalore
- Similarly students applying for Int. Ph.D. Bangalore and who wish to be considered for Ph.D. Mumbai can indicate their preference in the application form.
Physics: For PhD - M.Sc./B.E./B.Tech./ M.Tech degree holders. Final year B.Sc. students with consistently good academic record are also eligible to apply.
Chemistry: For PhD - M.Sc./B.E./B.Tech./M.Tech./M.Pharm. degree holders. Final year B.Sc./B.Pharm. students with consistently good academic record are also eligible to apply.
Biology:
Chemistry: For PhD - M.Sc./B.E./B.Tech./M.Tech./M.Pharm. degree holders. Final year B.Sc./B.Pharm. students with consistently good academic record are also eligible to apply.
Biology:
- For PhD - Masters in Basic Science or Bachelors in Applied Science. These include M.Sc. (Agriculture), B.Tech., B.E., B.V.Sc., B.Pharma. (4 year course), MBBS, BDS, M.Pharma.
- For Integrated PhD/ MSc.- Bachelors in any Basic Science.
- For M.Sc. Willdlife Biology & Conservation: Indian nationals who have a Bachelor's degree in any discipline (with minimum of 50% in core subjects), less than 35 years of age as on July 1, 2012 and a strong interest in wildlife research and conservation.
- Candidates in the final year of qualifying degree can also apply.
- Students with training in Physics or Chemistry are also invited to apply for the biology programmes.
Computer & Systems Sciences:
- For PhD: B.E./B.Tech./M.E./M.Tech./MCA/ M.Sc. (Computer Science / Electrical / Engineering / Electronics Engineering / Information Technology) degree holders.
- Exceptionally well qualified students with B.E./B.Tech./M.E./M.Tech./M.Sc. or equivalent degrees in other disciplines may also be considered.
- Final year students with consistently good academic record and knowledge of advanced topics may also apply for the relevant subjects.
- Candidates not holding a Master's degree and admitted to a Ph.D. programme can receive an M.Sc. degree by fulfilling prescribed requirements.
What scholarship covers? Ph.D. Students receive a monthly scholarship of Rs 16,000/- (enhanced to Rs 18,000/- after registration) and an annual contingency grant of Rs 20,000 (In addition to scholarship, they will recieve annual fee of Rs 4000)
Subject-wise monthly scholarship:
Integrated Ph.D. (Biology/ Mathematics): Rs 16,000/- (enhanced to Rs 18,000/- from third year onwards, subject to passing the Comprehensive Exam/registration), in addition to a tuition grant covering the annual fees.
M.Sc. (Biology): Rs 12,000/- and the annual fee is Rs 2000/-.
M.Sc. (Wildlife Biology & Conservation): Rs 10,000/- and the annual fee is Rs 2000/-.
Selection process: On the basis of written test followed by interview.
