Fresh Applications are invited by Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research (IGCAR), Kalpakkam for  Junior Research Fellowships of the Department of Atomic Energy for 2012 session.
SELECTION PROCEDURE:
Applications will be scrutinized and suitability of candidates will be decided on the basis of their academic performance. In each discipline, depending upon the number of applicants, candidates with marks above a cut-off will be called for WRITTEN TEST. For candidates under Category A or B percent marks of each previous semester/year of the qualifying degree will be used to decide the cut-off. For candidates under Category-C the percent marks of each previous semester/year of the qualifying degree will be used to decide the cut-off. Hence, candidates are advised to attach copies of all necessary mark sheets along with calculation showing the average marks scored.

Young India Fellowship 2011

About: Modelled after the Rhodes scholarship, this fellowship enables people to undertake a holistic, multi-disciplinary academic course and project-based internship aimed at grooming India’s next generation of socially conscious leaders.

Scholarship
:  Fully-funded Young India Fellowship (YIF) - Residential

Duration: One-year

Seats: Minimum 50
Eligibility: This programme is open to:
  • Students who are in the final year of their undergraduate degree
  • Students who have completed their undergraduate degree and have worked straight after that for not more than two years
  • Students who are in the final year of their postgraduate programme - provided they enrolled in the programme immediately after completing their undergraduate degree
  • There is no restriction with respect to the area of specialization at the undergraduate level
  • There is no restriction with respect to the medium of instruction (English, Hindi, regional language) that the student has been exposed to at the school level. However, she/he should be able to converse, read and write in English given that the medium of instruction at the YIF programme is English
  • All Indian Nationals
Selection process:
  • Assessment on the basis of submitted applications
  • Telephonic Interview
  • In-person interview
  • The final selection will be based on the applicant’s successful performance at all these stages.
Applicants who apply in the first round get the chance of early selection in the programme and enjoy the convenience of being interviewed in a city closer to their homes. The first round of interviews from January 1, 2012 will be carried out in New Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Kolkata. Subsequent interview sessions will be conducted only in New Delhi.

Prime Minister's Rural Development Fellowship

Fellowship: Prime Minister’s Rural Development Fellows Scheme (PMRDF)

Conducted by: Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India

The fellowship offers: The selected candidates will go through a three-month intensive training course including a 4-week internship in the preferred district. The fellows will be offered an attractive compensation that would include HRA, health insurance and other support. It is envisaged that the selection and training process and intensive development facilitation work at the village, block and district level as PMRDF will provide an exceptional growth potential.

Fellow Program in Managment @ XLRI, Jamshedpur

  1. Fellow Program in Management (FPM)- A full-time residential doctoral programme.
  2. Executive FPM (Exec-FPM)- a part time, non-residential, doctoral programme.

Fellowship:
  • Fellow students are awarded a fellowship of Rs. 20,000 per month till the successful completion of the Comprehensive Qualifying Examination and subsequently sutdents will get Rs. 25,000 per months till the end of 4 years from the date of admission, and no fees will be charged. From third year, a student can work as Research and Teaching Assistant (RTA), for which Rs. 25,000 per course will be paid extra.
  • The Institute provides supports for attending ational and international cenferences up to Rs. 1,50,000. A grant of Rs. 20,000 is also provided for data collection/field work.

FPM:
  • A Master's degree or its equivalent in any discipline with at least 55% marks (50% for SC/ST candidates) with the Bachelor's degree/ equivalent qualification with at least 60 % marks (55% for SC/ST candidates) obtained after a minimum of three years of education after completing higher secondary education (10+2) or equivalent,
  • A professional qualification like CA, ICWA or CS with at least 55% marks (50% for SC/ST candidates) OR
  • BE/B.Tech degree or its equivalent with at least 60% marks (50% for SC/ST candidates) and 2 years of relevant work experience are eligible to apply.
  • FPM candidates have to submit GMAT/GRE/GATE/UGC JRF (research) results taken during the year January 2010 and December 2011. Those who have done their PGP from XLRI, any IIM, MDI Gurgaon, FMS Delhi or XIM Bhubaneswar, with a CQPI of at least 6.00/8.00 or equivalent will also be exempted from appearing in the XAT.
Executive FPM:
  • An MBA / Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) or equivalent or GMP/PGPX or One Year fulltime residential programme in Management . Candidates from Premier B-Schools will be given preference.
  • Currently employed in a full-time job.
  • At least 5 years of full-time executive/managerial/ teaching / research experience as on March 31, 2012.
