Maastricht University India Scholarships 2012

The scholarship programme is a full time residential doctoral programme that aims at training scholars to become highly skilled and innovative researchers and teachers in various domains of management.
Eligibility: Applicants must be admissible for a master’s programme or graduate programme for professionals at Maastricht University and must not be older than 35 years at the start of academic year (1st September 2012).

Study in Japan: Panasonic Scholarships 2012


THE Panasonic Scholarship is for Asian countries to support Asian young students in pursuing a master’s course in Japan.

Scholarship: Panasonic Scholarship, 2012 

Objective of the scholarship:
  • Provide scholarship opportunities to privately financed students from Asian countries who wish to pursue a master's course in Japan
  • To offer financial assistance to foster highly educated experts who can contribute to the development of their countries in the 21st century
  • To promote mutual friendship between their home countries and Japan

Research Student of Graduate School
  • Basic Scholarship:   ¥150,000 per month
  • Tuition Assistance:  Actual Amount (a maximum of ¥200,000 to be paid each half year)

Entrance Fee Assistance: Actual Amount (a maximum of ¥250,000 to be paid)

Duration:

Eligibility:
  • Applicants must be citizens of China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, Taiwan, Vietnam and India
  • Must be a graduate from these areas: science, technology and engineering fields.

Japanese Language Proficiency
: Applicants must have the desire to master the Japanese language not only for studying at master’s level but also for understanding Japanese culture.

Other requirements
:
  • Must be interested in and have the desire to contribute to the development of the applicable countries/area and to promote friendship between the applicable countries/area and Japan.
  • Must obtain a student visa and arrive in Japan by end of March 2012 to attend the award ceremony to be held at Panasonic Headquarters at the beginning of April 2012.

Research scholarships for Indian students in Australia


Scholarship: India Scholarships for International Research fees (SIRF)
Offered by: The University of Western Australia
Benefit: These scholarships cover 50% of International Research Fees for up to 4 years, as well as Overeas Student Health Cover. Successful applicants will also be awarded a full living allowance scholarships.

Eligibility: The candidate must be -  
  • must be eligible to enrol or be enrolled as a full-time student in a higher degree by research at the University upon commencement of their scholarship;
  • may have commenced a higher degree by research but was unable to apply for an award in the last selection round due to the timing of their enrolment;
  • must be able to commit to funding personally or have a commitment from a recognised sponsor fifty percent (50%) of the full tuition fees for up to 4 years
  • must have completed at least four years of tertiary education studies at a high level of achievement demonstrated by the award of a degree of First Class Honours standard or equivalent;
  • must meet the University's English language requirements for scholarship holders;
  • must not have completed a degree either at the same level as, or at a higher level than, the degree for which candidature is sought;
  • must commit to paying 50 per cent of the full tuition fees for the duration of their higher degree enrolment, for up to two years for a master's and for up to four years for a PhD course;
  • must be a citzen of India
Duration: The scholarship is tenable for the course for which it is awarded which is two years for the degree of master's by research; or three years for a doctoral degree. No extensions are possible for a student undertaking the degree of master.
Doctoral students may apply for an extension of up to 12 months, by applying for six months only at one time, subject to satisfactory progress, provided the grounds for extension are related to their research and are beyond the control of the student.
Note: Periods of study already undertaken towards the degree prior to the commencement of the scholarship or undertaken during suspension of the scholarship are deducted from the maximum period of tenure. A second six-month extension will not be approved if work has not progressed during the first extension.

Central sector scholarships for UG, prof courses in Kerala

Scholarship:
Under Graduate Students: Rs.1000/- per month for (Subject to a Maximum of Rs. 10,000/- for an academic year) and Rs. 2000/- per month for Post-Graduate studies (Subject to a Maximum of Rs. 20,000/- for an academic year), provided they are selected for Scholarship at UG level.
Professional Courses: Rs.1000/- per month for the first three years (Subject to a Maximum of Rs. 10,000/- for an academic year) and Rs. 2000/- per month for the 4th and 5th  years of study (Subject to a maximum of Rs. 20,000/- for an academic year).
Eligibility:
  • Applicant should have scored a minimum of 80% of marks in the +2/VHSC Examinations, March 2011 conducted by the Board of Higher Secondary Education / Board of Vocational Higher Secondary Education, Government of Kerala.
  • Applicant should be pursuing any Regular Course at Under-Graduate Degree level in any recognised Educational Institution, including Professional Courses such as Medical, Engineering etc. Students pursuing Parallel/ Private Registration/ Correspondence/ Distance Education courses are not eligible to apply for this scholarship.
  • Parental income (Both Father and Mother) should not exceed Rs. 4.5 lakhs per annum for the financial year ending March 2011.
  • Applicant should not be availing any other scholarships/ Financial Assistance.
  • Applicants should not be belonging to the Creamy-layer.
Reservation: The total number of scholarships is divided to the states, based on the statistics of the population in the age of 18-25 years. 50% of the scholarships would be earmarked for girls. The scholarships would be distributed amongst the pass outs of the Science, Commerce and Humanities streams in the ratio of 3:2:1. Scholarships are reserved for the various categories as follows: SC- 15%, ST-7.5%, OBC- 27%. For Physically handicapped students, 3% scholarships are reserved horizontally in all the categories.

Erasmus Mundus scholarship: Psychology Master's in Europe

Scholarship: Erasmus Mundus scholarship

Programme: Master on Work, Organization and Personnel Psychology (WOP‐P) programme

Programme highlights:
  • To prepare the students as competent practitioners in Work, Organizational and Personnel Psychology at the entry level as independent (non supervised) practitioners. This preparation is inspired in the scientist-practitioner model, which assumes that good preparation as a practitioner implies the acquisition of professional and research competences
  • To offer a European referent of training in WOP-P to the students of other regions of the world
  • To promote mobility of European and third-country students and staff across Europe
  • To contribute towards university excellence and competitiveness within the European Higher Education system.

  • University undergraduate degree in Psychology
  • Commitment in writing to full-time dedication for the 2 years of the programme and other commitments for students with EM grants and commitments for students without EM grants.
  • Fluency in English (level B1), using the common European Framework of reference for languages.

Selection process:
  • Based on the academic performance and credentials of the candidates, in order to guarantee the selection of high-quality scholars.
  • The following criteria will be considered: CV, teaching and research experience in the field, knowledge of English, and knowledge of a European language of the Consortium (Spanish, French, Italian or Portuguese).
  • The Coordinating Committee of the WOP-P Consortium will propose the selected scholars for the Erasmus Mundus grants

80 Khorana Scholarships for research studies in US

Undergraduate Khorana Scholars from India will spend the summer in research laboratories at US universities, mentored by university faculty members.

Scholarship

Scholarship highlights:
  • The Khorana Scholars programme will pay all expenses for up to 80 Indian students to travel to UW-Madison and partner U.S. universities to engage in a hands-on research project.
  • Indian students will be matched with a faculty member at a partner university in the U.S. based on what type of project they would like to work on.
  • This is an excellent opportunity to apply lab skills in an indepen¬dent environment. At the end of the program, students will present their projects at a symposium.
  • Opportunities are available to pursue research in the sciences, medicine, agriculture, and engineering. 
Eligibility: Candidates currently enrolled in B.Tech, M.Tech, or M.Sc. courses in science, engineering, and medicine are eligible to apply. You must be currently enrolled in recognized institution of higher education in India. This program is not open to those who already have a graduate or undergraduate degree.
  • The applicant should have a have a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 8.0 or higher (Percentage equivalent: 80% and higher).

Scholarship amount: $ 50,000 annually for upto three years

Eligibility:
  • Students with scholarly achievement in graduate studies in the social sciences and humanities, natural sciences and engineering, and health.
  • Candidates should be nominated by only one Canadian university, which must have received a Vanier CGS allocation.
  • Applicant should be seeking financial support to pursue first doctoral degree (or combined MA/PhD or MD/PhD) and should intend to pursue, in the summer semester or the academic year following the announcement of results, full-time doctoral (or combined MA/PhD or MD/PhD) studies and research at the nominating university.
How to apply:
  • International students should identify and contact the department of the Canadian postsecondary institution, with a Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarships program quota at which they hope to study.
  • The universities will undertake own nomination process of candidates, which begins in September. The preliminary assessment for a Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarship may start earlier. After the university nomination process, the selected nominees are then sent to the appropriate federal granting agency for final consideration for an award.
  • In September, the applicant are required to submit past academic results, evidence of relevant professional and academic experience including all important research work and two written evaluation by referees.

Eligibility:
  • For those who have scored more than 80% marks in 10+2/ VHSC examination, March 2011 conducted by Board of Higher Secondary Education/ Board of Vocational Higher Secondary Education, Govt. of Kerala
  • Candidate should be pursuing any regular course at undergraduate level at recognized educational institutions including professional courses such as medicine, engineering.
  • Parental income should not exceed Rs 4.5 lakh per annum.
  • Applicant should not be availing any other scholarship.
  • Candidate should not belong to the creamy layer as defined by Dept. of Personnel and Training in notification number 36012/22/93.
Scholarship:
  • Rs 1000 per month for undergraduate studies and Rs 2000 per month for postgraduate studies.

CBSE Scholarships for grads/ post grad students!

Scholarship sponsored by: Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE)

Eligibility:
  • Passed the Senior School Certificate Examination  2011 conducted by CBSE and  have secured the total aggregate marks (in first five subjects) equal or above the following minimum marks as per the stream opted by the applicant:
    Minimum Total Aggregate Marks for all categories (SC/ST/OBC/UR) to apply for Scholarship - Science (408/ 500), Commerce (380/ 500), Others (334/ 500)
  • The applicant should be pursuing higher studies and have taken admission in Under Graduation regular course (not correspondence or distance mode) from  recognized Educational Institutions in India.
  • The applicant should not be availing any other scholarship.
  • The applicant should not belong to creamy layer as defined by DoP&T from time to time. (Govt. of India, Dept. of Per. & Trg., OM No. 36033/S/2004-Estt. (Res.), dated 14-10-2004) (This is applicable to all categories of applicants both ‘general’ and ‘reserved’)

Scholarship amount & duration:
Graduation
  • Rs.1000/- per month* for three years (To be disbursed lump sum Amount of  Rs.10,000/- at end of academic year)
  • For 4th and 5th year of Professional Courses @ Rs 2000/- per month
     
Post Graduation (Other than that of the professional courses): Rs 2000/- per month for two years after Graduation (To be disbursed lump sum Amount of Rs.20,000/-  at end of academic year)

Mode of Disbursal of Scholarship:

  • Scholarship amount shall be sent to the selected candidate’s Bank Account only by ECS (Electronic Clearing System) mode.
  • Applicants are requested to open Bank Account in his/her name in a branch of any Scheduled Nationalised/ commercial Bank which has ECS facility.  A
  • pplicants are advised to provide their Bank Account number, Bank Name and detail address of the Bank and the correct RTGS/ NEFT branch code of the Bank.

Means-cum-Merit Scholarship 2011 at State Council of Education Research & Training

1. National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship 2011 (NMMS):
  • Qualification: For this scholarship student must studding in 8th class in Govt/ Granted School of Haryana and must pass 7th class with minimum 55% marks (min 50% in case reserved category) from similar schools of Haryana state. Annual income of parents of student should be less than Rs 150000/-
2. Haryana State Talent Search Examination (HSTSE) 2011-12
3. Haryana Science Talent Search Scheme (HScTSS) 2011-12
  • Qualification: For (HSTSE) & (HScTSS) all those students will be eligible who are studding in class 8th in all Govt./Aided/Private/Public Schools of Haryana State. Student must pass 7th class with minimum 55% marks (min 50% in case reserved category) from similar schools of Haryana state. There is no bar on parents annual income.

  • Date of Receipt of Application Forms: 01.09.2011
  • Last Date of Submission of Application Forms: 24.10.2011
  • Date of Examination: 20.11.2011 (Sunday) 11.00 am to 2.00 pm
Selection Procedure:
Written Test contains two parts:
  • Part 1: Mental Ability Test: 90 Marks
  • Part 2 : Scholastic Aptitude Test: 90 Marks

CBSE Merit Scholarship for Single Girl Child

The fellowship covers: The scholarship holder would be given Rs.500 a month for a period of two years only (Class XI & XII).
Duration: Two years
Eligibility:
  • The applicant should be an Indian national and the girl child and only child of her parents.
  • She should be a student of CBSE in Class X in which she would have scored 6.2 or more CGPA.
  • The tuition fees for Class X should not be more than Rs.1,500 per month during the academic year.
Note: The scholars who have been granted scholarships by the Board in respect of the above said scheme in the previous years may also apply for renewal of scholarships.
