Positions: Sailors (sports quota): Athletics, Aquatics,
Basketball, Boxing (Bantam, light, light welter and middle weight
categories only), Best physique (80, 85, 100 and above 100 Kg weight
categories only), Cricket, Golf, Football, Gymnastics, Handball, Hockey,
Kabaddi, Volleyball, Weightlifting (85,94,105 and above 105 weight
categories only), Wrestling ( GR 55, 60, 66, 84, 96 kg & FS 96 and
120 Kg weight categories only), Squash and Tennis.
Pay scale: Rs. 5200- 20200, Grade Pay Rs.2000/- + MSP @Rs.2000/- plus DA.
Eligibility:
(a) Direct Entry Petty Officer:
Educational Qualifications: 10+2 qualified in any stream or equivalent examination.
Sports Proficiency: Team Games: Should have represented
a state in Nationals either at junior/ senior level or represented a
University in the Inter University tournament.
Individual Events. Candidate should have attained a minimum of 6th
positions in Nationals (seniors) or 3rd position in National (juniors)
or 3rd position in the Inter University meets.
Age: 17 to 22 years as on date of commencement of
course. Candidates should have been born between Feb. 1, 1990 to Jan.
31, 1995 (Both dates inclusive)
(b) Senior Secondary Recruitment (SSR):
Educational Qualifications: 10+2 qualified in any stream or equivalent examination.
Sports Profiency: Candidate should have represented state /National level.
Age: 17 to 21 years as on date of commencement of
course. Candidates should have been born between Feb. 1, 1991 to Jan.
31, 1995 (Both dates inclusive).
(c) Matric Recruits (MR):
Educational Qualifications: 10th /equivalent qualified.
Sports Proficiency: Candidate should have represented state /National level.
Age: 17 to 21 years as on date of commencement of
course. Candidates should have been born between April 1, 1991 to March
31, 1995 (Both dates inclusive). Candidates selected will be enrolled as
Cooks or Stewards.
(d) Non Matric Recruits (NMR):
Educational Qualifications: Passed 6th standard.
Sports Proficiency: Should have represented state /National level.
Age: 17 to 21 years as on date of commencement of
course. Candidates should have been born between April 1, 1991 to March
31, 1995 (Both dates inclusive).
Selection process: Deserving candidates would be called
to appear for trials at designated Naval Centre. The candidates
qualifying trials will undergo medical examination at INS Hamla, Mumbai.
The offer of enrolment will be forwarded to the selected candidates
only, which will be strictly determined by requirement in particular
sports disciplines and availability of vacancies.
How to apply: The application is to be submitted on A4
size paper only as per the format. The type of entry, sports discipline
with achievements is to be clearly written on top of the envelope
containing the application. Envelopes should be of brown colour. The
documents mentioned in the application form are to be punched and tied
firmly with a strong thread to the application. Candidates are required
to submit one additional recent coloured passport size photograph along
with the application with their name and signature on the reverse of the
photograph. The background of the photograph should be blue.
