Programme mission: RISE professional placements aim to provide students the opportunity to live and work in an international context, to gain confidence in their practical and professional skills, to improve their German and be a source of mutual cultural and professional enrichment for interns and their host companies.

Eligibility:

• RISE programme for undergraduate students 2012: UG students currently enrolled at a US, Canadian or UK university in the fields of biology, chemistry, physics, earth sciences and engineering
• RISE Professional 2012: Recent graduates, Master and PhD students from North American, USA and Canada universities in the fields of biology, chemistry, engineering, geology and physics (or a closely related field) are invited to apply. Undergraduates who are RISE alumni or former DAAD scholarship holders are also eligible.
• German language requirements depend on the nature of the internship.

• In case of applying to RISE Professional submit a cover letter addressed to the companies to which you plan to apply, resume, list of subjects studied, a reference letter from a senior professor of your University, an official college/university transcript, a copy of ‘certificate of enrolment’ (not applicable for recent graduates) and copy of passport.

IT summer internship @ IIIT Bangalore

Working Internships in Science and Engineering @ DAAD

Institute: Deutscher Akademischer Austausch Dienst German Academic Exchange Service
Programme:  2-3 months internship at institutions of higher education and re-search institutes in Germany with German doctoral students, scien-tists or professors as part of on going research projects.
Duration:  2 to 3 months, but not exceeding 90 days
Benefits: A monthly stipend of Euro 650 to cover living expenses;A lump sum towards travel Euro 525; Compulsory health insurance covered by DAAD.

Eligibility:

Indian students:
Pursuing full time Bachelor degree programmes at one of the selected Indian Universities who are enrolled in their 5th and 6th semester at the time of application.
or

Pursuing full time Dual Degree/ Integrated programmes at one of the selected Indian Universities who are enrolled in their 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th semester at the time of application.

Aggregate marks of 85% and above or CGPA 8.5/10 and above of completed semesters at the time of application. The applicant must be a registered student of his/her institution and must have minimum one semester remaining after the completion of his internship in Germany.

Acceptance cum invitation letter from a German Professor for the internship. Only one invitation letter will be accepted.  Private research institutes and private companies cannot be considered under this programme as a German host institution. German language skills are not mandatory.

Candidate must be a resident of India and an Indian national.  Applicant must have a valid Passport at the time of application.

The following documents should be arranged:

• 2 print-outs of the DAAD online application form submitted online.
• 2 typed copies of full curriculum-vitae (min. 2 pages).
• 2 copies of letter of motivation from the student (min 1 page).
• 2 copies of “Certificate of enrolment” see attached ZAV form).
• 2 copies of the form “No Objection Certificate” filled by the ap-plicant. (See attached).
• 2 scanned copies of the invitation letter from German host on his letter head signed by the German Professor.
• 2 scanned copies of the form “Approval Form by German Host” to be filled and signed by the German Professor.
• One refer-ence letter from senior academic mentor from the applicant’s field of study on the proforma available on our website or on his letter head.
• 2 copies of all chronologically arranged university/college semester mark-sheets.

Research internship @ IIT Bombay

Institute: Indian Institute of Technology Bombay

Eligibility: 

• Should be in second year of a Master's programme, or third / fourth year of a Bachelor's programme. Branch / discipline of study will be as per the project requirements specified by IIT Bombay Faculty (Internship Guide).
• Should be among the top 10% in all the previous years in your discipline in the College / University / Institute in of the programme. A certificate from the Principal to this effect will have to be submitted at the time of applying.
• Should be a full-time student while applying and till the completion of the Internship. You may submit a partial project report before (e.g., in April) the completion of the Internship (e.g., in June) if the academic calendar of your College / Institute / University requires you to do so, with the prior consent of the Internship Guide.
• Should be able to work full-time for the Internship. Part-time internship is not allowed. A certificate to the effect that there are no course work requirements during the internship period has to be submitted at the time of applying.

Stipend: Rs. 10,000 pm
