Research Fellowship @ Central Power Research Institute

Central Power Research Institute (CPRI) is an autonomous society under Ministry of Power, Government of India. Set up in 1960 by the Government of India, it functions as a centre for applied research in electrical power engineering assisting the electrical industry in product development, Consultancy and quality assurance.

Programme: Senior Research Fellowship Programme

Duration: Duration of research project will be two years with a provision for extension up to six months in exceptional cases, based on the recommendation of the competent Authority.

Eligibility: 1st class Post graduate in engineering in the relevant area of specialization with consistently high level of academic record and aptitude for research.

Stipend/ Remuneration and other facilities:

• SRF shall get Rs. 22,000 per month (fixed).
• In addition to the above SRF may be paid up to Rs. 25,000 as a lump sum payment per year based on the performance and recommendation of the committee.
• Reimbursement of expenditure up to Rs. 20,000 during the programme for contingency expenditure purpose for the project on appraisal from the competent authority.
• The SRFs are required to visit/ stay at project sites depending on the exigencies in connection with the project work and the expenditure will be regulated as per TA rules of CPRI.
• Expenditure towards attending seminars/ training programmes relevant to the project will be provided as per CPRI norms.

Age: 30 years. Relaxation in age as per Government of India's norms.

Selection process: Based on marks obtained at the qualifying examination / Interview and past record.
