Eligibility: Masters Degree in any Engineering / Technology; OR M.Phil in Mathematics or Statistics or Electronics; OR B.E. / B.Tech OR Master’s Degree in Computer Applications / Mathematics / Statistics / Electronics / Information Systems / Internet Technology / Geo-Informatics / Bio- Informatics with a minimum of 60% marks in any of the above stated qualifications (a relaxation of 5% marks is provided to SC/ST candidates). All educational qualifications must have been obtained from recognized universities/ institutions in India or abroad. If grades are awarded instead of marks, candidates should clearly indicate their numerical equivalent.

Research fellowship: The selected Research Scholars would be paid a monthly stipend of Rs. 14,000/- per month during the first and second year and Rs.15,000/- per month during the subsequent years. The fellowship is normally tenable for three (3) years. The Institute is in the process of revising the Research Fellowship and it is likely to be enhanced.

Accommodation: The Institute would provide accommodation to the selected Research Scholars in the Institute’s quarters at Begumpet, Hyderabad.

Selection process: The Selection Process for admission to the Ph.D programme would consist of:

• A Written Examination on December 19, 2011
• Personal Interview (only for the candidates qualifying the written examination) on December 20, 2011

The applications received in response to this advertisement will be scrutinized and the candidates found suitable for the written examination will be intimated by November 25, 2011. The written examination and personal interview would be conducted at IDRBT, Hyderabad. Accordingly, candidates found suitable and called for the selection process should make the travel arrangements in such a way that they can stay in Hyderabad for two days. Candidates will be provided lodging and boarding by IDRBT during the selection process.
