Programme: Graduate Engineers course on Operation & Maintenance of Transmission & Distribution Systems

Duration: 26 weeks

No. of seats: 60 (25% seats are reserved for sponsored category. If sponsored candidates are not available, seats will be filled up by Non-sponsored candidates. Reservation for SC, ST, OBC (non-creamy layer) & PH will be as per Govt. norms in the non-sponsored category)

Aim of the course:
  • To create a technically skilled trained manpower readily available for recruitment to the companies doing business in the areas of Transmission & Distribution of Electrical Power.
  • On successful completion of this course the Graduate Engineers will find immense opportunities and preference in employment with various power sector companies.
Programme highlights:
  • This is a job oriented unique course of 26 weeks duration which is conducted by Power Systems Training Institute (PSTI) under NPTI at Bangalore.
  • The course content covers complete operation and maintenance of Power Transmission & Distribution Systems, as per the syllabus of Indian Electricity Rule (Rule-3) for Transmission & Distribution.
Lodging / Boarding: Facilities available for both boys and girls at a payment of Rs. 2400 per month per student on twin sharing basis excluding food charges. Hostel rent to be paid at a time for six months at the time of admission.

Eligibility: Bachelor of engineering or equivalent in “Electrical” / “Electrical & Electronics”/ “Power Engineering”

Age Limit: Maximum age limit as on June 11, 2011 is 27 years.

Selection process: Percentage of marks obtained in the B.E. or equivalent examination as per University norms.

Fees:
  • 1,20,000/- (in two equal installments) for nonsponsored candidates
  • 1,50,000/- (in one installment) for sponsored candidates.
Additional Fees: Caution money Rs. 2000 (Refundable) and Conveyance & Internet charges Rs. 3600 (one time only). Placement charge Rs. 15,000 (refundable if not placed) and hostel rent Rs. 14,400 (for six months).

Sponsored candidates: The candidates sponsored by employer fulfilling the requirements will be admitted directly. They will have to submit sponsorship letter and experience certificate, photostat copies of appointment letter, last 12 months salary slips and bank statement for the last one year showing the credit of salary in his bank account duly attested by Manager of Bank.
