Eligibility:

• B.A. / B.Sc. degree with 50% of marks in aggregate and securing a 50% pass mark in the Entrance Test conducted by RIESI will be eligible for admission. The candidate must have studied English as a language in his/her degree programme 2 years / 4 semesters and should have secured an aggregate of 50% marks in English language (both years included). OR
• A citizen of India who has passed a 3 years B.A. English Honors / English Literature / optional English / Communicative English / Functional English degree programmes with or without any elective subject securing 50% marks in the aggregate and 50% pass mark in the Entrance Test conducted by RIESI will be eligible for admission. Such candidates must have studied English as a language in their degree for 2 years / 4 semesters and should have secured an aggregate of 50% marks in English language and securing a 50% pass mark in the Entrance Test conducted by RIESI will be eligible for admission. OR
• A citizen of India who has passed a two year M.A. degree in English with 50% of marks in the aggregate of all the subjects in the 2 years / 4 semesters of study. Such candidates must have studied English as a language in their degree for 2 years / 4 semesters and should have secured an aggregate of 50% marks in the English language and a 50% pass mark in the entrance test conducted by RIESI, Bengaluru for admission.
• In case of SC / ST candidates, there shall be a relaxation up to 5% marks in the required aggregate either in the language specific or over all aggregate. This relaxation will be applicable to all the SC / ST candidates from all over India or submission of a certificate to the effect.     
• Age limit 40 years relaxable by 5 years in case of SC / ST candidates. In case of in service candidates deputed by the member states there is no age limit.

Total no. of seats: 100 (16 seats for each member state viz., Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerla, Tamil Nadu and Puducherry and 20 seats for the rest of county)

Selection process: Eligibility criteria and scoring 50% in the entrance test conducted by RIESI

How to apply: Interested candidates can write to the Director, RIESI, Bangalore fore the application form, eligibility criteria and details by sending a crossed DD of Rs. 500/- (Rs. 250/- for SC/ST candidates enclosing proof of the same) drawn in favour of the Director, RIESI payable at Bangalore along with a self-addressed sufficiently stamped envelope.
