Selected candidates, (around 30) are called for an orientation course at SRFTI. Based on their performance at the orientation course, the first 12 according to merit are selected.

- Graduate in Drama/ Acting/ Stagecraft from a reputed Institution.
Or - Graduate with 5 years acting experience on stage/ television.
